Hi everyone, this is my first trip in 2016 and…
Here’s wishing everyone a fabulous holiday festive season!!! It will soon be the new year, a time for new resolutions and for those that we did not manage to keep this year, let’s worker harder this time! On the top of my wish list this time will be a 3 kilos weight loss LOL. It is not an easy feat, considering my love for gourmet food and having a boyfriend who feeds me very well all year long.
Battling with overweight luggages has now found it’s way to the top of my boyfriend’s hate list after he forked out 3800 euros on our last Paris trip. He now travels with a luggage scale LOL. I have hence deteriorated to traveling as light as possible. I must say I did pretty well this time as I wore everything that I brought except for a Kelly 25 in Red. Didn’t feel much like going out with a bag that tiny somehow. My basic preferences are still the Birkin 30 and the Kelly 32. I know I cannot go wrong with these styles.
This year’s winter holiday takes me to snowy white Hokkaido and Tokyo, the land of very good food! Just got back from my trip this morning and I have not yet garnered the courage to step on the scales. Plus I am nursing a very bad flu that I caught when I landed in Tokyo. I promised myself that I must do my morning HIIT workouts but I guess I would have to feel better before I do.:(
We did not get the right timing for full fledged powder snow this year in Niseko. In fact it was slosh for a good 3 days when I was there. The first day was pretty and snowy then it started raining dreadfully fir the next 2 days. All the snow become ice which turned to slosh, a very unpleasant experience to have to walk through that. Since I do not ski, the lack of depth in snow didn’t really affect me but boy, the slosh!!!
I did manage to take some pretty pictures on the first day when it was white but nothing like when I was there this Feburary, the entire village of Niseko was completely covered with the prettiest shade of white ever! I’ve always been intrigued by snow as a child and the charm of white winter. The very first time I experienced a snowfall was in Frankfurt when I was 17, I was so elated that tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks.
Traveling with a group of friends this time was great fun. We had some serious girly bonding over hot chocolate and enjoying yummy desserts during teatime. The days are however short and it gets dark by 5 pm usually in Niseko. Relaxing and just chilling out is such a good idea when it’s so cold out there. I have always been a fan of Japanese desserts and this time a friend brought me to this quaint little cottage that served me the best fresh cream fruit tart ever!!! There’s truly nothing better than that.
I really enjoy traveling with a bunch of like-minded good friends. It enhancess the trip with laughter when everyone is in a jovial holiday mood. The most important thing to do is to have all the restaurants pre booked way in advance to avoid disappointments. We booked ours a good 3 months ahead!
For winter skin caring, I make sure that I put on a Luminous1 Collagen mask twice a day. I never saw a day of dry flaky skin while I was in Niseko when I stick to my regime. Lots of Elixir and Luxe Cream to protect from the harsh cold. I could still put on my usual makeup and it stays fresh all day and night. The key is to ensure your skin is properly nourished and moisturised before makeup. It is also important to drink lots of water to replenish inner fluids.
Now let’s look forward to Tokyo!!! xoxo
