LIVE. LOVE. LAUGH

December 15, 2015

My life’s pace has been getting increasingly hectic towards the festive season. Time sure flies, we are headed towards the end of 2015. This has been a testing year for me, mentally draining somewhat and physically taxing as well. Having lost a loved one did not help and somehow I felt a part of me died as well. I was dealing with it the best that I could and I felt it changed me in some ways. We all have different ways of dealing with grief and for me I have always been taught to deal with grief in the tough way. What doesn’t kill me always makes me stronger. Sometimes I wish I was a little more delicate, it is always nice to be a girly type of girl but unfortunately my circumstances never allowed me to be that.

For me, it is also a time to reflect, to access the people around me, who is loyal and who is just there for less than desirable reasons. I am a very private person and I don’t like to socialise with new people unless it is for work reasons. I value my close friends whom I already have put my trust in, though, being the cynic that I am, I sometimes randomly put things to the test. Some may turn out to be disappointing when we find out the truth but I always believe better earlier than late and pain is only transitional but the truth will always hurt. The best way is to get over it, move on and be happy and positive because life is too short to be wasting it on being unhappy. Live life with love and laughter is always the best cure for a bad day!!!

I have also embarked on a serious exercise regime lately. Being too blessed for too long, I do not want to push it. To ensure that I stay as healthy as possible and to maintain that svelte figure, I started doing yoga and also High Intensity Interval Training to encourage metabolism as well as to tone up my body. Combining it with my usual Cambridge Therapeutics body treatments, I am on the right track!

Having just got back from a lovely weekend in Bali, I am now immediately packing for my winter trip happening in a few days. I am so exhausted. Having never been known for being a light traveller, I have been told not to incur anymore excess baggage this time!!! 🙁

Checklists include refilling toiletries enough for 9 days, planning the outfits for the ski resort then the city. It’s gonna be a very cold holiday! Confession; I hate to pack light, I wish I can have a different coat, bag and shoes/boots everyday, but I am limiting myself this time to hmmm 2 handbags perhaps, I am still caught up in a dilemma on shoes and awwwww…can I please have a different coat everyday at least. These days, I make it a point NOT to pack anything I am not sure that I am going to wear so everything has to be pre matched to a tee before the trip!

It is so exciting to be travelling with a bunch of my close friends this winter and boy, are we gonna heat up the ski resort! But for now let’s have a look at my little short weekend resort holiday at the W Hotel Bali. It is definitely one of my favourite stays in Bali with the warm, friendly service and the convenience of being right smack in the most happening part of Bali, surrounded by all the best restaurants and shopping centres. Totally wowed by the many upmarket chic fine dining restaurants popping up in Bali and from my last trip I have had the pleasure to try a different one every time and my verdict for most left me smiling and full of praises. For this story there won’t be food pictures due to the fact that most of these fine dining restaurants are so dimly lit at dinner time that it was clearly impossible for me to make any good ones.

This time though, I was mostly chilling at my resort as the weather was too hot for me to be doing much of the touristy thing. With a gorgeous pool villa that was too pretty not to be making lots of beautiful pictures for this story, the smart thing to do was to enjoy it to the max.  I also had the chance to dress up for the W Grand Gala benefitting the Pansophia Nusantara, dedicated to advance children education in Indonesia.

If only all weekends look like this. 🙂 xoxo
